Kids Activity Idea – Lapbooking

I just stumbled upon a really great educational concept and tool, it is called a ‘lapbook‘ or ‘lapbooking’.

They are great for your child’s development, really cheap and easy to make, and most importantly great fun for your children!  When I was researching I also noticed that a lot of homeschool parents use this awesome learning tool to teach their children, and that teachers could also use this really fun concept to enhance the learning of the children that they teach.  Lapbooks aren’t always something that your children put together.  They can be put together and used by all ages, from pre-schoolers through to adults.

When I went searching for more how-to information, ideas and themes, I found an absolute bucket load – and most of it is free!  I have taken the time to post a heap of links to great websites that I found when I was researching lapbooks.  If you want to make a lapbook on a particular theme then you may like to google ‘lapbook’ and the theme topic you are interested in.  Chances are you will find some really great ideas and information tools to assist you in making a lapbook on this theme.

Oh, and maybe you could consider including items in your kids activity bags so that your children can make a lapbook.  If you don’t want to take scissors with when you go out then you might like to pre-cut or get your child to pre-cut the card, paper and any pictures to the right size beforehand.  A different way to link them back to their kids activity bag would be to encourage them to make some lapbooks and then every now and then put one of their finished lapbooks into the kids activity bag, so that your kids can have another look, and learn even more from what they have made!

I have added for you below, some links to lapbooking how-to information, topics and ideas:
